House Party Playlist
A house party playlist has to work for a crowd that changes all night. This list starts with relaxed songs while people arrive, then builds into dance songs and ends with late-night picks. Most songs are from the last 20 years, with a few older ones everyone knows.

Tips for your house party music
- Start at a volume where people can talk. Turn it up as the room fills.
- Tell neighbors before the party and set a time to lower the volume.
- Mix genres in blocks of three songs, so no one waits long for their style.
- Put a few songs you do not love in the queue. A party is for the guests.
- Keep water and snacks away from the speaker and the phone.
Let guests vote instead of playing DJ
Show the Jukebox QR code on your TV or on the fridge. Guests join in seconds, vote for songs and request their own. If you own an Apple TV, the free Jukebox tvOS app shows the queue and now playing on the big screen.
Here is how it works. The host starts a session from Apple Music. Guests join by 6-digit code, QR code or by being nearby. They vote on songs, request their own and vote to skip. The most-voted song plays next. Guests need no account, and only the host needs Apple Music.
Frequently asked questions
How many songs does a house party need?
Plan about 15 songs per hour. A four-hour party needs roughly 60 songs, and a bigger queue lets guests choose.
How do I stop one person from taking over the music?
Use voting. In Jukebox every guest has a limited number of votes, so no single person controls the queue.
Do guests need an app to join?
No. On iPhone an App Clip opens, and any web browser opens a voting page. Only the host needs Apple Music.
